The Weightlift Challenge consists of two events; squat Snatch and squat Clean & Jerk.
The goal is to complete as many repetitions as possible in 150 seconds in the Snatch and 120 seconds in the Clean & Jerk, using a barbell load determined by body weight, height, gender and age. One point is given for each approved repetition. The athlete with the highest score wins.
RGA allows men and women of different size and age to compete against each other on fair terms thanks to our unique barbell weight calculator:

To compete you need to be able to perform at least two reps in each event.
Assume the position in front of the barbell and await the signal to “lift”. The timer starts now.
The lifter must wait until the Down signal or the rep doesn’t count.
The squat after the snatch must be at least parallel to the floor (the hip below the top of the knee). “Power snatch” is Not allowed. Each repetition should start from a “dead stop” (“Bouncing” is not allowed).
Squat Clean & Jerk:
The squat after the clean must be at least parallel to the floor (the hip below the top of the knee). “Power Clean” is Not allowed. Each repetition should start from a “dead stop” (“Bouncing” is not allowed).
Chalk (Magnesia), wrist wraps and lifting shoes can be used in both events, but other than that no equipment is allowed. It’s mandatory to wear clothes that makes it easy to see your knees, hips and elbows (i.e T-Shirt/Tank top, Shorts/Thights or Hot pants).
